About Our Organization

What is Workers Against Oppression?

Workers Against Oppression (WAO) is a student-run organization that organizes and mobilizes the populace against injustice. Originally known as A2 Against ICE, we've expanded our focus to address economic, racial, and international oppression. We operate primarily in Washtenaw County, Michigan.

What does "Leave with a plan, not a sticker" mean?

Our motto reflects our commitment to actionable change over performative activism. We believe in equipping people with concrete plans, resources, and tools — not just bumper stickers and slogans. When you engage with WAO, you leave with something you can actually do.

Is WAO affiliated with any political party?

No. Workers Against Oppression is an independent, non-partisan organization. We focus on issues, not party politics. We work with anyone committed to fighting oppression and building power for the people.
